Can't connect a second laptop

I can't connect a second laptop to my account. When I try to, I have to copy and paste the auth code which doesn't work. Then I try logging in again through the webpage. Doesn't work. I try logging in through the app and that doesn't work either. Then I logout and log back in.... same thing. This shouldn't be this frustrating! Can you help me out?
