Merge iTunes and Traktor libraries

Solved

Hi all my playlists are in iTunes and all my hot cues are in Traktor.

How do I bring these together in Mixo?

I imported my iTunes library and playlists but when i imported my Traktor library it duplicated the tracks and only the new ones have cue points. I ended up with a library double the size in Mixo.

Ideally I want to merge the two so that the playlists from iTunes contain tracks with Traktor cue points.

Lexicon does this.

Any assistance appreciated

MIXO v1.30 is now live! This release includes significant improvements to the duplicate checking logic and should solve your problem.

My recommendation is to import your iTunes XML, then import your Traktor NML. You should end up with all your playlists and all your tracks from Traktor, without duplication this time.

Please let me know how it goes!

Hi there,

The problem you have is that when you add tracks to iTunes it duplicates the track in your computer, resulting in a different filePath.

One way you can solve this is using the Duplicate Finder under Settings.

Select "Cues" before the search, so that the tracks with the most cues are selected to keep. This should tidy everything up!

The duplicate checker looks for tracks with the same duration and a close match for the artist and title.

Let me know how you get on!

This is not correct.

My Traktor files are the same files as in iTunes.

The Traktor music files are in the iTunes media folder.

Ah ok in that case it's because the filePaths are structured differently in iTunes XML vs Traktor NML.

The duplicate checker should resolve the situation then.

I'll look into a solution for better filePath checking during import.

Thanks!

Could you provide a step-by-step guide or some tips on how to effectively merge iTunes and Traktor libraries in Mixo without duplications and while preserving cue points? Are there specific settings or preferences to be aware of? Tel U

I've actually improved the logic now so that duplicate checking works when filePaths differ between software.

I'm aiming to get a new release live in the next couple of days so I think this will be the best solution for you.

I'll update you as soon as it's live!
