Corrupted imports on latest version

Hi team Mixo,

Since updating to the latest version, any new tracks that have been imported appear to be corrupted in some way. This includes missing waveforms and very sketchy playback, particularly with long tracks. Even after exprting to Engine (I use a Denon Prime 4), the waveforms are still missing on recently added tracks and playback can be temperamental. Also, this current version seems to be very resource heavy on my PC, running up to 8 processes at once! Something does not seem right here, please look into this. Until now, I have been very happy with Mixo, and love the simplicity which is akin to the iTunes of old. I just wish I could sync direct to the Prime 4 as easily as we did with an iPod back in the day.

Thanks in adavance, Tom x

Hey Tom,

Thanks for getting in touch.

There are no changes to any logic that would cause these issues in the last release (v1.86).

During analysis, MIXO will create multiple additional threads to simultaneously analyse your tracks. The number of the threads can be adjusted in Settings/Advanced using the slider. These threads are removed once all the tracks have finished analysis.

If you try to play a track, during the analysis import step, that has not been analysed yet, MIXO will try to analyse it on the fly to build the waveform. This could cause issues I suppose.

Equally, playing tracks during analysis, which is very resource-heavy, will result in “sketchy” playback due to the demands on memory and cpu elsewhere in the app.

In summary, when analysis is complete, check your memory and you’ll see the additional threads will be gone. Then try playing a track and it should be fine.

To maximise performance, make sure all other apps are closed when using MIXO. Same goes for dj apps. Always good to give them as much resources as they need :)
