I started organising my library, 3800+ tracks, I really loved MIXO, and suddenly, nothing changed, nothing new installed, didn't even restart my mac, suddenly UI starts glitching, going shit, then synced with Cloud (I did a force sync but this is the main library source) and library disappears... screenshots attached... unfortunately I lost trust in your product completely

I forgot I did a backup 2 hours ago, restored it... Something got messed up with tags, I believe this might be rekordbox <> mixo sync - screenshot attached:

previously I had tags:
- intro
- analysed-lv

now obvs some corrupted state...

I’ve not seen anything like this before!

It looks like your playlist tracks are messed up.

If that’s the case, try Settings/Tools -> Bad Track Remover and try to remove blank playlist tracks.

Once that’s done, re-import from your DJ software and MIXO will automatically regenerate your playlists tracks.

Bad Track Remover doesn't detect anything, UI Glitching started again just now... It is very unstable. BTW I work in software, I am not some person that doesn;t know to use tech, I cleared caches etc. Checked how tags format in rekordbox. I am quite stunned with your official support in first response shifting blame to me => these are your tracks.

Hey, there’s no blame here! I’m just trying to offer some support late on a Saturday night outside of hours.


I’ve genuine never seen anything like this so I’m thinking on the spot with ideas to help. Apologies if that’s come across in the wrong way.


In the past, blank entries could appear when reimporting from DJ software so we introduced the tool to remove blank entries which removed them, allowing you to reimport and fix them.


If that’s not working I’m very confused.


If you imported from dj software, you can right-click and select all playlists and folders and delete them in MIXO, then re-import from your DJ software to regenerate them. It will be fast and sync all the fixes afterwards.

It all goes south when I import / export to rekordbox. I would like MIXO to be the source of truth and just exporting to rekordbox, but for it to work now each time I have to completely wipe rekordbox. There should be an option to have MIXO as master, an export to rekordbox to completely wipe the DB. I really really love mixo, I find it intuitive, fast and well priced.

Also when I use MIXO it is nicer in workflow with MIK, tbh I hate MIK. You are doing something right, but something is really off with tags and UI getting corrupted. Not sure how I can help to debug this but I am technical and offering help here. On latest MIXO version, latest MIXO here, MacBook Pro M4 Pro... So not really outdated mac or software

Happy to land on a zoom call in a week, I am so careful now that actually can't reproduce the corrupted state, I really want to find the condition - if I find it, some free membership months are expected ;)

Please can you send me your master.db from Rekordbox so I can replicate the issue where MyTags were corrupting the MIXO database?


I’m sure I’ll be able to solve this issue.


Its possible this is related to the release last month where we started exporting MIXO tags to MyTag.

Hey, I am really sorry got busy with work, the problem is atm my database is ok and not corrupted so if I send you now the state it is all fixed, I need to do some backups and try to break it again ;) I will try this evening

Noo, I think what broke was syncing back and forth with rekordbox, thanks to the backup I could restore it to a working state (obvious I lost some changes). then I broke it again and restored, now I have it working but for now organising my library in mixo only before I break it again ;)

Ok understood. I thinking having your master.db could still help, because I could import and export with Rekordbox a few times to see if I can replicate.

No, from Rekordbox. You can find it via the import Rekordbox page in MIXO. Just click the folder icon.

My rekordbox library is empty now, I described it above. My trust is in MIXO and as sync back and forth was breaking stuff I completely reverted to organisation in MIXO and will export to rekordbox once I go through my 3000 tracks. So currently rekordbox is empty. Unfortunately MIXO does not have a mode to override everything in rekordbox and syncing back and forth was keeping tracks in rekordbox I was deleting etc.

Another little UI issue, build waveform, when finishes doesn't show it, I have to launch another track and back to the track that was building to have it working

Another issue - sorting by key - ascending starts with 10A, descending starts with 9B

Strange, I can't replicate the first issue with the waveform, it always appears for me. It is a bit glitchy if you skip through tracks that have no waveform and it starts to generate them simultaneously though.

As for sorting by key, I've just managed to fix that! It was because the 'Display key format' (Settings/Advanced) in the track list may not be the same as in the database. I've now included conversion when sorting.

This will be in the next release!

Awesome, the waveform loads just needs skipping back and forth.


Anyway the minute I put the library again in corrupted state I will reach out ;)

It is sync with dropbox that messes everything up, also not every time backup actually works, just lost few hours of work on the library...

Perhaps there’s something corrupting backup as well. It will all be connected.


So are you saying when you make a change and MIXO syncs the changes to the cloud, your library gets messed up? On the same device?

I think you’ll need to send me some stuff for me to try to pin point the issue.


Please refer back to my email and send over your master.db and maybe your MIXO backup xml.


If you have any further info, like a step by step to reproduce this issue please let me know.

Genuinely there are so many things here that go wrong, if I do one wrong step, hence I offered landing on a call where I can share the screen and show you, I cant even perform full backup, I had a backup before, switched it off, songs have YES in uploaded even though I removed previous cloud connection, they don't even upload again but something is happening and it corrupts library.

Ok let’s start with a video if you can do a screen recording that would be great.

By the way, even if you disconnect your cloud storage the tracks will remain “Uploaded” but of course you can’t stream or download them on other devices unless MIXO has the authenticated connection.


But that doesn’t sounds like the real issue here. It sounds like there is some rogue data in a track or tracks that causes the backup to fail and probably sync is not completing.


Since it’s a completely unique case let’s solve it.


If you can send me a screen recording to start that would really help.


Otherwise when is a good time for a zoom call and where are you based?

Sorry for lack of replies, been busy at work, I am happy to jump on a very quick call anytime in the next 2 hours to have a short chat about it, I have lots of ideas ;) the issue with sync is that disabling it kind of doesn't wipe the status of songs being synced and it should somehow reset

I think I've replicated, so I just need to figure it all out and solve it now. 100% tags!

If you remove the Tags column from the track list and exist the list then return it's should be fine.

Did your tags also got corrupted as in the screenshot I attached in original post? With square brackets etc

Yes that's the problem, it's coming from the server after receiving changes (eg after reset local and login).

I can't see why it's happening yet.

also I am trying to create a backup and still 22-05-2025 is the latest... and it says it created it... also if I create few on the same day why are they not listed? I never know if the backup was successful or not? As Now I like to back up few times an hour, they should be listed with a full timestamp, I am a bit worried to use the product as I cannot actually see the backups I have

Somehow today (23rd) doesn't have any xml inside, but I defo applied changes to the structure, playlists etc...

Ah yes the backups will replace the current day.

It would be good if they could stack up, I might need few backups every each and get back to the specific one, as it is not immediately noticeable sometimes if something breaks

But also as you see the last one is somehow not succeeding still no back up on 23rd (lack of XML file) even though today I pressed back up few times, I need to have today backed up at few points in time.

Ok I think it's fixed via the server.

If you restore from a backup now, next time you reset local or sync on another device,the tags should work.

Please check and let me know!

FYI - I've also enabled multiple backups per day in the next release. As long as they are at least a minute apart! :)
