songs missing during import to mixo process
Answered
When importing into Mixo from traktor, a fair amount of songs are not showing up in the import section, when they are clearly in the .nml file.
Files:
$COLLECTION.nml
Hi there,
I'm not seeing any issues. Could you explain which tracks are missing, ideally with a screenshot?
Thanks!

There ya go.
it happens in most folders, but in the most glaring case is sinestro songs has 14 when it should be 65

MIXO is importing what ever is in your NML, which is 14 songs - see "ENTRIES="14":

But I opened the nml and all 65 songs are in there.
But I opened the nml and all 65 songs are in there.
as an example, open the nml file in notepad++ go to entry 26107. you can see the genre and the name of the file (sinestro - plastik toys).
so it's there but not in the 14

Ah you mean the songs that aren't in playlists are not importing into All Tracks in MIXO?
Did you select "Import Everything"?

As far as I can see, MIXO is both reading the NML correctly, and importing the tracks, playlists and playlists tracks correctly.
If you think the playlist should contain more tracks, please go back to Traktor and check the playlist to see how many tracks it has.
If the playlist has more than 14 tracks, you could also try exporting a fresh collection to see if the NML is correct.
Let me know ho it goes!

ok I did the same. I imported all and 3149 tracks imported, but again only 14 tracks in the sinestro songs genre folder and all the tracks are grey? says none were analysed.

Ok in Traktor go to Playlists -> Genres -> Sinestro Songs and tell me how many tracks there are.
In theory there should be only 14 tracks.
1. Do they all play?
2. Are they found when you right-click and select "Show Track In Explorer"?

Thanks for the help on this btw. I appreciate it!
I have figured out where the missing files are so now mixo has the correct playlists along with the correct files/songs for them, however they are all grey in mixo as if the file doesn't exist.

Sounds like you've moved or deleted the original files.
The easiest solution is this:
1. Right-click the track list heading and add the "Missing" column.
2. Sort by this column, then tick the top track check box, and shift-click the last missing track to select them all.
3. Right-click and select "Relocate Tracks".
4. Select the outermost folder for your music and MIXO should go through and relocate the tracks. For better accuracy select a specific folder if you know when the tracks are.

Thanks. That worked and yeah, I had all the files in another drive.
Next issue. I exported to recordbox and they show in recordbox, but the files themselves are not there (same as it was with mixo).

Presuming you've done another export after fixing the filePaths for the missing tracks, you probably now have duplicates in Rekordbox.
That's because after relocating your tracks, they would be seen as new tracks, so you'll just need to delete the old tracks from Rekordbox manually.
Basically, with any app if you move or delete tracks they will stop working everywhere. Similarly, if your tracks are on an external drive and that drive is not plugged in, the tracks won't work and appear missing.
Hope this all helps!

The file mixo exported did not have the new location for the files so none imported it seems?
Glancing at the xml mixo exported, it looks like it thinks the files are in c:\Traktor_music\*whatever the genre name was*
which is odd because when I told it to relocate as you suggested, I pointed it to w:\traktor_music
I have attached the file.

Ok let's focus on a single playlist to ensure it's a safe comparison.
Go to the "Sinestro Songs" playlist and add the "FilePath" column to the track list, then check the filePaths to see if they are corrected.
If they are and they work, export this playlist and the filePath should be correct. You can use export XML or Export Direct.
If they are not the new filePaths, relocate them and test, then export as above.
If they are the new filePaths but now they don't work, something strange is happening... Did you move or rename the folder? Are they on an external drive that's not connected?
Let me know how you get on.

I started from scratch. Here's the steps I took.
1) exported nml file from traktor to D:\rbox
2) Imported just sinestro songs from nml file in d:\rbox
I can see all files, but they all say "missing"
This seems like a bug. Have you tested this?

There are no known bugs of this type but I'm struggling to help because you've tried different things each time without providing the info I've requested to help me understand the situation.
Please confirm the following:
In Traktor go to Playlists -> "Genres" folder -> "Sinestro Songs" playlist.
1. How many tracks there are? (should be 14)
2. Do all tracks play?
3. Are they found when you right-click and select "Show Track In Explorer"?
4. Please take a screenshot of the track list clearly showing the "FILE PATH" column like I showed you previously.
5. In MIXO, go to the same playlist and take a screenshot of the track list clearly showing the "FilePath" column.
Please let me know your answers to questions 1-3 and attach the screenshots for 4-5.
Hopefully this will give me a better indication as to what's going on.
Many thanks!

Ok I figured it out I think.
Basically, just need to do everything on one PC and not use mapped drives between computers

Ok great! Did my steps help you find where the confusion lies?
Also, in testing I realise why there was some earlier confusion - I think you were looking at Sinestro Songs in "Track Collection" rather than "Playlists", which does indeed have 66 songs but the NML only exports from "Playlists".
