Doubled tracks on my hard drive

When I imported the Serato files, it created a MIXO Sync folder in my Dropbox that duplicated all of my tracks and folders. I'm sure this is the process, but it doubled the files on my hard drive greatly limiting my valuable computer space. I already had all of my music files syncing with Dropbox, does the MIXO Sync folder have to be made available offline as well?

Hi there,

Yes that's by design. MIXO would have no way of linking your tracks on your computer to your tracks in Dropbox, so it has to upload them in order to obtain unique reference IDs to the tracks.

Ok, with that, and it makes sense, can I have them Online-Only or do I have to keep the MIXO Sync folder available offline?

Another question along the same line of thinking: I deleted a lot of music files from my hard drive, when MIXO syncs upon opening, does it also delete those files from the duplicated folder?

There always needs to be a local copy of your tracks.

If you've deleted music files from your hard drive that exist in MIXO they will still be there but won't work because MIXO won't be able to find the track. I think that's the same as DJ apps.

Correct, but they were duplicate tracks and I went through my Serato and cleaned that out. So, because they are no longer linked in Serato, when I open MIXO, will I need to re-import my Serato or will MIXO sync and eliminate those files from the MIXO SYNC drive folder found in Dropbox?

I guess, ultimately, do I need to go through and delete the files within MIXO SYNC folder as well?

The local copy of the tracks are already in the Dropbox Music folder, the MIXO SYNC folder duplicated the library making storage an issue.

I'll have to check the logic. MIXO previously deleted tracks from cloud storage if they were deleted in MIXO, but it's possible that it doesn't do that any more for safety.

Either way, if you've deleted tracks from MIXO, I would manually delete them from the MIXO sync folder in your cloud storage if space is an issue.

Are you all going to be at DJ Expo in Atlantic City? I would like to schedule a sit down with someone to discuss my account and how to work the program better.

Unfortunately MIXO won't be there this year!

I'm happy to book a zoom call with you at some stage to see if I can offer any advice, or show you the best way to use the features.

Any time from 12th August.

Since working with Marcus, I have definitely gotten further along on the process, but I have found 900+ folders created called MIXO (Selective Sync Conflict **). Each ** is the next consecutive number. I do think it's causing some syncing issues in Dropbox. When I import the Serato files, not all of the files analyzed and I had to go through the crates to re-analyze the tracks.
