Does MIXO not import beatgrids correctly from Rekordbox 6?

Hi,

A load of tracks stripped of there metadata, cues, beatgrids etc have been freshly analysed in rekordbox 6 and then imported to MIXO.

The beatgrids do not match rekordbox, is this a known issue/something you are working on? Very few (*if any) display a beatgrid in MIXO which is aligned to the beats. Also the memory cue which rekordbox has set on the first downbeat is off-beat (late). This is on a windows machine.

Is there something I am missing? Thank you

MIXO v1.61 is now live with fixes for Cues, beatgrids and waveforms displayed incorrectly for certain MP3s.

Details:

- After re-analysing affected MP3 files in v1.61, the waveforms and cues should display correctly in MIXO. Beatgrids may still need some adjusting, as always with different software!
- Added new Advanced setting "MP3 Offset Fix" to fix cues and beatgrid positions when exporting to Engine DJ and VDJ (on by default) (only 2 DJ apps that seem to be affected).

Thanks so much for the feedback! :)

Hi there,

If your tracks are MP3 files, then yes, there is a known issue concerning MP3s.

The issue is related to incorrect duration returned from the audioBuffer during analysis of MP3 files. Rekordbox, Traktor and Serato handle this correctly, where as MIXO, VDJ and Engine DJ + many other apps do not.

However, you'll be pleased to know that in the next release we have addressed this issue and the waveforms in MIXO will display correctly.

We've also added a feature that is on by default, that shifts the beatgrid and cue points when exporting to Engine or VDJ.

I'll let you know when it's live!

Thank you Remko, that sounds promising. I have a lot of m4a files also, I will do some checking to see if these are ok. Look forward to the update, cheers

As far as I'm aware it's only MP3 files that are affected and only Rekordbox, Traktor and Serato handle the offsets correctly.
