inconsistent behaviour in duplicate finder

Sometimes, I can select more than one track to keep.

Others (when there are several duplicates) I cannot.

So for example - 2 duplicates, I want to keep both, fine it work.

16 duplicates, I want to keep a clean and an explicit version it will only let me select one.

Hi Ian,

You'll be pleased to know that MIXO v1.37 is now live with some improvements for the Duplicate Finder.

These include:

- Fixed the issue of being able to select more than one track in a group.
- Added an option to remove tracks from a group (shows if you hover over a non-selected track in a group of 3 or more duplicates).
- Slightly improved performance for large result lists.

Whilst the performance should be slightly better, I still recommend clicking "Stop" if the results exceed 1000+ duplicates. Even trying smaller batches of 500 or so, you'll notice a massive difference in terms of performance. It will end up being faster doing several batches rather than all 8000+ at once, which as you've found will be laggy.

Anyway, let me know your feedback. We're edging closer to an initial release with Engine DJ export as well so I'll be in touch for your feedback on that!

Thanks Ian, looking forward to seeing you as a paying subscriber soon ;)

Great idea, thanks.

There can be only one selected track because that track will replace the other tracks if they exist in playlists.

As another future improvement we could introduce a remove option to remove individual tracks from duplicate groups. This would give you the additional control you're looking for.

I'll add it to the task we have for performance improvements.

Ok, it's not working that way now. It's possible to select more than one track in a group to keep.

but only when there are 2 tracks, once there are about 4 or more it stops letting you do that.

So what happens when it selects the clean and explicit version of a song, what do I select if I want both ?

It's possible that due to the number of duplicates you have it's not responding ver quickly. What should happen is after selecting a track in a group, the others become disabled. I'll check this as well!

With my proposed improvements any tracks you remove from duplicate groups will remain in your library but get removed from the duplicate groups, thus allowing you to proceed with replacing unwanted duplicates with the chosen (selected) track.

Thanks again for the feedback. We'll see what we can do!

Here you can see it allowing more than one track to be selected.
