Save Duplicates Search
Answered
So It's found 8063 duplicates.
I de-select all, it takes 10 mins to respond.
I spend 30 mins selecting the ones I want out of the first hundred and then select delete duplicates.
It then wants me to search for all the duplicates again (which is taking over an hour)
Why?
Why can't I save the results ?
Why does anything in duplicates take so long to respond?
MIXO v1.37 is now live with some improvements for the Duplicate Finder.
These include:
- Fixed the issue of being able to select more than one track in a group.
- Added an option to remove tracks from a group (shows if you hover over a non-selected track in a group of 3 or more duplicates).
- Slightly improved performance for large result lists.
Whilst the performance should be slightly better, it is recommend to "Stop" the search when the results get to between 500-1000 duplicates. It will be faster when checking and correcting duplicate selections in several smaller batches than all at once if there are 1000's of duplicates.

Hi Ian,
I can only presume you have a large library and as it seems a huge amount of duplicates!
I guess it's not quite optimised for results of over 8K duplicates!
Have you ever used any other software to try to reduce your duplicates?
Please be aware that, as stated on the guide page, the duplicate finder is a basic tool and works well in most cases.
Large libraries with thousands of duplicates is a little outside the scope but I'll certainly look into optimisations.
Thanks for the heads up!

I've tried a few, but not got on with them, one of the reasons I looked at mixo was
"A useful tool for clearing out duplicates. It's not as thorough as some tools on the market that compare audio signatures, which can be time-consuming and heavy on CPU, but it's fast and works well in most cases."
I don't need it to be thorough, as for a DJ those are bad as they often get it wrong. Plus cues and playlists are important to me, and mixo is one of the few that supports those.
Happy to be a beta tester to test any performance improvements you can find.
In the local group of DJ's I've got the smallest library, but that's mobile vs club who have tiny libraries :-)
