Hi, I noticed that MIXO cuts long genre names when importing songs. For example Beatport genre "Techno (Peak Time / Driving)" turns into "Driving)".

Hi there,

How did you import your track?

Hi. I imported files from a local folder (Windows). Thanks

Interesting, I'm not seeing that. Do you have an example track you could send me possibly?

Yes. In the captures you can see genre in MIXO and genre in another software.

Ok there was a slight issue where multiple genres were overwritten by the last one, which I've now fixed for the next release.

However, brackets in genres are unusual and cause problems when parsing the data - see attached.

The correct way to separate genres is with a space, semicolon or comma.

Do you have many tracks with brackets in the genres?

Thanks,

Nice, thanks!

Well, I don't know about other popular platforms but for example I buy music at Beatport and brackets are added automatically to some genres. I attached an screenshot with all genres list. Some of them have brackets to indicate a a subgenre.

Ok I'll look into it some more to see how we can handle them but for now it's partially fixed for the next release.

Thanks for the heads up!

MIXO v1.26 is now live with some improvements for saving multiple genres during analysis.

Thanks again for the feedback!
