can't get it working at all

Solved

I subscribed to Mix today. am using Rekordbox 6. I am on a MacBook Pro M1 Max.

rekordbox v 6.74, Mixo Mac 1.22.0

ive connected it to my Dropbox, where my songs are stored (from Rekordbox)

I can't even get it to import my 400 songs from Rekordbox. when it tries to analyse, it fails to find any of the songs. it compiles a list of the 400 songs and says its synced, but no songs will play, as it hasn't found them.

rekordbox works fine. all my songs are there.

ive tried doing a full reset of Mixo and logging in again, and re-importing from scratch to an empty db.

any ideas, before I give up and cancel my sub?

thx

ps. if necessary I can provide a video recording of it not doing what its supposed to.

Hi Jez,

Where are your tracks located? Local hard drive, external drive, streaming tracks etc?

Could you send me a screenshot of your missing tracks in MIXO with the filePath column showing. You can enable this by right-clicking the track list headers.

You'll probably notice that the filePaths don't look right after importing. Maybe it's something we need to investigate and fix or maybe it's something else!

Thanks in advance.

Here’s a screenshot… do you want a video of it importing?

As mentioned, all the music is stored by Rekordbox in my dropbox folder

Mixo was connected to Dropbox before I imported the library.

Ah ok I've seen this before but I'm not sure what the solution or cause is yet...

All the filePaths are "/contents_..." rather than normal filePaths. Probably because they are Rekordbox cloud paths.

We'll have to investigate the database to see if we can find the original filePaths if the tracks are in the cloud.

At this stage I don't know if any other data is available but I will let you know either way.

as mentioned they're local, in the dropbox folder that rekordbox moves them to when you backup to the dropbox 'cloud'.

the contents folder is in the Recordbox folder in the dropbox path.

I didnt want to use the dropbox cloud, but rekordbox pushes you that way if you want to use their mobile app, which only seems to support dropbox.

I see. It must be the cloud path then and Rekordbox builds it on the fly.

It's strange that it overwrites the original filePath in the database.

We'll investigate to see if there's an alternative entry in the database with the original filePath we can fall back to if the filePath begins with "/contents".

Thanks for the info Jez, really appreciate it!

there must be a way to detect that the music files are stored in dropbox or google cloud and then access them from the local copy of those drives.

rekordbox desktop allows both dropbox and google drives for cloud storage, but the iOS app only allows dropbox drive access

Ok we've found it. After connecting cloud to Rekordbox, a new column is added to the database with the original filePath, whilst the location column gets updated with the cloud path.

We'll add the fix for this in the next release, hopefully later this week.

Thanks for helping find this anomaly, we really appreciate it!
