What am I doing wrong?

My collection is synced, with all green dots on Mixo desktop on my main laptop (Windows v1.21) but it shows as having 0 files everywhere else. I've signed into the same account and Dropbox account on an iPad, iPhone and another Windows Laptop but they all show the same 0 files, with tracks and artwork as "up to date"
I've tried to reset Mixo/local on the external devices but not the 'master' as was trying to avoid having to upload them all again if possible. Any ideas please?

Hi there,

Reset MIXO will delete everything in the local and cloud databases, then disconnect you. That's why you're not seeing anything. This means your primary device will essentially be frozen in time until you reconnect, at which point it will sync and delete everything.

There may have been a simple reason your other devices weren't syncing, where Reset Local or a simple log out and login may have resolved it.

Unfortunately you'll have to re-import. The tracks won't be duplicated in the cloud but Dropbox is not particularly fast when reusing existing uploads.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you require any further assistance.

Thanks Remko, that’s sorted that out.

Next thing I’m stuck with is seeing my downloaded music in the DJay pro app, on the iPad? Is that Apple being Apple and not allowing access to the area they download to or is there a way to do that too, please?

Oh that's an interesting idea. So you're trying to download MIXO playlists in the hope that the files will become available on DJay Pro on iOS?

Obviously you wouldn't have playlists or customised metadata and cues, but it could be possible.

Have I understood you correctly?

Hi Remko, that’s right. I downloaded a small playlist, fired up DJay Pro, click the source option, browse to Files but can’t see where they have downloaded to. I see other folders like Edge, Chrome, Downloads (so if there was an option to change the download path in the Mixo app, that would probably make it work.) I can get them directly from Dropbox but have to download each track individually, which isn’t great!

Ok thanks. Can DJay Pro see all folders in the Files app on iOS, or just Downloads?

There may be a way to display them. I'll see what I can do!

Hi, It can only see a few folders. I’m not sure if it’s a permissions setting per app but I can see user created folders too (screenshot attached of what I see)

Yes that's the Files folder. Thanks! Will let you know if my idea works.

Well, I can get the files into a MIXO folder inside the Files app. They all have random file names and obviously won't be in any kind of order but at least you can import them.

I'll release this in the next version - let me know what you think!

MIXO v1.22 should now be live in the App Store!

If you download a playlist in v1.22 you should see the files in a MIXO folder in the iOS Files app.

Whilst the files don't have recognisable names, in theory they should import into DJay Pro where it will read the metadata.

Let me know if it works!

Works wonderfully! Thanks so much for implementing this, its a game changer :)

You can just add the MIXO > Music Folder rather than individual files and it brings in all the downloaded tracks.

P.S all the hot-cues also come over! :)

Amazing!

By the way, I'm just in the process of getting a mini-release live for iOS, which puts the tracks into separate folders for each playlist. It might make it easier to manage.

The playlist and track titles will show the position number but otherwise they only have generic unique IDs. Either way, it might help with importing and ordering playlists like you have them in MIXO.

I'll let you know when it's live!

Hi, me again :) Any chance you can make the same thing happen for Android? The Android DJay app is almost usable since V5 is out now :)

I assume the synced music downloads to Android > Media > com mixo, so I think the app would just need to have the files permission added (but don't quote me on that!)

Hello!

I'll see what we can do.
