Sync not complete on other devices

Hi,

I'm trying to sync a small collection (10 playlists, 787 tracks total) from a Mac. Everything has been uploaded to Google Drive, but the Sync database process seems to restart every few seconds and other devices are only syncing a part of the collection (only 342 tracks on my iPhone). Is there a problem with the cloud database ?

It used to work before but MIXO then started to duplicate lots of songs so I reset every device with Reset MIXO and Reset Local, closed everything and let the main Mac do its job. The sync issue is still happening after that. All tracks have been uploaded by MIXO on my Google Drive, the problem must be related to the internal database which is synced somewhere else.

Everything is running on MIXO 1.19.

Hi there,

I'm not seeing any issues with the cloud database.

I can see lots of data in the cloud, so it should be accessible on other devices. A simple logout and login normally fixes any issues.

Please log out and login again, to see if it completes the sync loop.

Let me know how you get on!

I reset again the library, imported again my tracks and mixo was syncing every few seconds. I then logged out and logged in again, as it's still looping over syncs the same way it did before logging out.

I see 787 tracks on my local MIXO, but if I login on mobile or on another laptop I see 338 tracks. There is something completely wrecked in the database that prevent my local app to sync to the remote database it seems.

On the cloud upload side (Google Drive), all tracks seems to be there, but I noticed that as soon as I start importing again the same library (from Traktor) and without any modification (not even opened Traktor in between), the track count goes higher, and some tracks disappear from the cloud storage.

It makes MIXO unusable for me at the moment as the goal was to be able to prepare and pre-listen on my phone and keep the main source laptop for lives. I would have liked to have the ability to export everything to a flash drive for backups but counted on MIXO doing cloud upload for that. Now it's just not possible to do that as MIXO wrecks everything every time I import something and I only see a partial library on my phone.

I already tried reinstalling the app, clear cache, clear local , clear MIXO several times to no avail.

I'm really sorry about that. I can't understand how that could happen every time.

If possible, please export everything to Rekordbox XML and send me the XML.

In theory I should be able to import that and replicate the issue, at least I'll try!

Thanks in advance.

Can you please give me an address where I can send you the XML privately ? I only have Traktor so the Rekordbox XML will be exported from MIXO itself, is that OK ?

Sure, I'll message you privately.

I'm finding constant issues on a daily basis.

Artwork taking ages to sync or not at all, need to restart the app or my laptop or phone.
Tracks taking ages to sync and it won't upload multiple at a time, despite my laptop having many CPU threads.
No download progress when downloading to my phone.
Green download/sync icon doesn't disappear when I delete playlists off my phone.
Cloud storage not disconnecting unless I restart my laptop or the app or my phone.

I could go on, there are so many bugs.

All of these issues sound related to either network issues or the cloud database.

There are currently no issues with the cloud database, but there could have been a temporary period of downtime.

On an average connection of about 50Mmb/s you should see an average of 2.5mb/s upload speed Google drive, for example. This is the same speed you'll get when uploading files via your browser, which is frustratingly slow in my opinion!

If your cloud storage is not disconnecting until restart, there is 100% a communication problem with the cloud database.

The easiest solution is logout and login. However, generally this shouldn't be happening and is rarely required, despite the issues you've experienced.

I will monitor and investigate any potential causes or issues with our cloud database and keep you informed.

Please also let me know if you noticed a pattern, for example, after installing an update.

Thanks,

Remko

2.5mb/s is just not workable for anyone who uses lossless files exclusively to be honest.

I get 25mb/s up from using the OneDrive app standalone, so I think I'll be moving back to that as well as using Lexicon for library management as it just seems a lot more stable and with better features.

I hear you! It can be faster, but it seems to be API limitations beyond our control.

MIXO v1.20 is now live, with a fix for the sync loop. The sync should resolve itself after it restarts, otherwise reimport and it should be fine.
