OneDrive - Implementation?

Hi,

I was wondering if I could have some clarity on OneDrive please.
At the moment, I use OneDrive to mirror my iTunes library across three laptops. I also do this with my Traktor, Serato and Rekordbox libraries.

Am I right in thinking that if I was to backup all the files I've imported from Mixo to OneDrive, this will just create duplicate files, saved to a new Mixo directory, rather than use the existing file locations, already located in my iTunes Media directory?

Would I have to start using a MASTER iTunes laptop and then sync the files between each machine, using just Mixo?

I would rather keep using iTunes to organise my collection and playlists, in conjunction with Mixed In Key, and then use Mixo to sync the files between my laptop and phone and be able to set beatgrids and hot cues on the move, then export those to DJ software or export to USB for CDJs, once imported to Rekordbox.

Hello!

Unfortunately, yes, MIXO needs to upload the file and obtain the unique ID to the file. It also creates the same folder structure as the local track.

There's no easy way to use existing files, unless the cloud folder paths match, which is unlikely if you've uploaded manually.

There's no other way do it. If we were to search the cloud storage and find a match for the track you want, there's not enough information to go by so you would end up with incorrectly matched tracks.

I hope this information helps.

Hey Remko,

Thanks for the quick reply. No worries, I did think it was a huge long shot, but worth asking all the same.

A nice weekend of file management ahead for me then haha!
