Serato Smart Crates Importing Empty/Without Tracks

Hi

I have just subscribed to MIXO and my first try isn't working very well. I am trying to import my Serato library, which is mostly sorted using Smart Crates based on genres.

When I go to import, MIXO can see the Smart Crates, but they all appear with no tracks inside. I have tried different settings and tried to import from the _Serato_ folder on other drives on my PC.

I am using Serato DJ Pro 3.0.8 and MIXO 1.17, both running on Windows 10.

I would really appreciate if you can help me get this working please, as so far I haven't been able to achieve anything I had hoped to with this software.

If you need any further information, please let me know.

Kind regards

Hi Wezaari,

Firstly, welcome to MIXO! I'll do everything I can to help get things working correctly for you.

I'm also just about to do another release having discovered and fixed an issue with crate ordering that affects root smart crates.

But this should not affect missing tracks. This is mostly likely caused by problems with filePaths.

Could you possibly send me a couple of smart crates which show 0 tracks in MIXO?

You can find your smart crates in Music/_Serato_/SmartCrates.

Thanks in advance!

Also, it's worth pointing out that during import MIXO will first create the playlists, then add the tracks during analysis.

So during analysis you'll see the playlists gradually getting populated with tracks.

See example video attached!

Let me know if this helps.

Hi Remko

Thank you for your response.

I've just downloaded the latest release and tried again after watching the video you provided. Unfortunately, I am getting the same results.

I have attached some example smart crates which both contain around 80 tracks in Serato - none of the tracks from these playlists are added to MIXO when I try to import them.

Please could you elaborate on the possible filepath problem, in case it is that?

Not sure whether it makes a difference, but I thought I should mention that my music files are stored on a different drive (F:) to the one where the smart crates folder is located (C:).

Many thanks

Hi Wezaari,

Those Smart Crates have no tracks, which is why they're not getting imported!

Serato creates duplicate _Serato_ folders on each drive where you have tracks in crates.

On your F: drive, you should find another _Serato_ folder with Subcrates and SmartCrates folders.

Please try selecting the Subcrates folder on your F: drive and import. This should resolve the issue.

Doing this unfortunately isn't pulling in the smart crates. See below. Would appreciate a fix for this.

If you have any tracks on other drives you might need to additionally import them afterwards by selecting and importing the Subcrates folder on each drive.

I have and smart crates still aren't showing up.

It's possible that the rules are not compatible, or the smartcrate files have no tracks in them, otherwise they should appear (as normal playlists in the tree).
