Hi Nicolas,

It's likely that you imported some time ago, before the logic was changed to enable zoom-able waveforms on mobile.

To fix this, select your tracks in the desktop app, right-click and select "Re-Analyse Tracks", then select the option to "Rebuild the waveform". This will build and upload the waveforms.

Once it's finished syncing you should see the waveforms on the mobile app.

Let me know if this resolves your issue, or if you need any further help.

Thanks!

Hi there,

When you re-analyse the tracks and check the box for "Rebuild waveform" it should upload all the waveforms and tracks.

You can verify this by checking your cloud storage to make sure the waveforms are there and you'll see the upload time/date.

Then as long as the mobile app is operating correctly (yesterday we had a database outage) when you play a track it should fetch the the waveform and save it.

Please try logout login on the mobile app and try again. Also, try closing the player after playing the track and reopening it whilst the track is playing.

If you're still having issues let me know.

Just reanalyzed the tracks w/ the rebuilding of the waveform, app says it's synced but google drive don't recognize anything syncing. Does it tend to take a bit for google drive to see the waveform update?

Hi Nicholas,

You'll only see activity in Google during the upload step. This is when your art/track/waveform gets uploaded to your cloud storage.

If you look inside the Waveform folder in the cloud you should see some files uploaded around the time of your import.

The syncing step syncs the MIXO database to the cloud database so you can see everything on any device.

Once it's all done, try the mobile app again. You can try reset local if it doesn't show immediately.

Also try opening and closing the player modal if the waveform doesn't show immediately. Sometimes that helps. Also, skipping tracks may help.

I'm looking into why the waveform doesn't show straight away in some cases!

Let me know hoe you get on.

Hi Nicholas,

I've replicated this issue and I am now investigating.

I'll keep you updated.

Hi Nicholas,

Ok, I think I've found the problem and the solution! To fix this issue, please follow these steps:

1. In your Google Drive, go to MIXO -> Waveforms and delete all waveforms that show "0 bytes" - see example attached.

2. In MIXO, Re-Analyse your tracks and "Rebuild Waveform". If you've already done this, you can skip this step.

3. Then select the tracks, right-click and select "Upload Tracks".

4. After upload and sync is complete, "Reset Local" in the mobile app.

5. Login and play a track - you should now get the waveforms!

I'm sorry for the confusion but it wasn't immediately clear how this was happening but we'll see if we can prevent this from occurring in the next release.

Please let me know if your issue is resolved after following these steps!

Good afternoon,

Just verified none of the waveforms show 0 bytes. They all have something there.

Hi guys,

I'm pleased to announce that MIXO v1.5 is now live!

This release includes some improvements to displaying waveforms on mobile. If your tracks definitely have waveforms in your storage, it might be worth doing a Reset Local if they're still not working.

Let me know how you get on.

Hi Nicholas,

Hmm, I was not expecting that!

You could try deleting all the waveforms in that folder and continue from step 2.

We've also got a new release coming up which has some small improvements for displaying the waveform which might help.

Let me know if deleting the waveforms and following the steps above fixes it though.

Thanks!

Did this as well, still didn't work.

Ok I'll let you know when the new release is live. Hopefully that will fix it.

It might be today, depending on how quickly Google approve the app!

So good news 26 tracks uploaded, bad news 26/61 tracks uploaded. None of those tracks have the waveform on iPhone. Repeated all steps for the phone to get them to populate.

such a great a idea wish it worked. Will probably have to unsub till you guys get there. It’s so inconsistent and unreliable atm.

Hi Nicholas,

This is so strange. What do the failed logs show for the tracks that didn't upload? You can find these in Music/MIXO/Logs. It should show the reason why the tracks failed to upload.

Either way it sounds like there's a problem somewhere that's not directly connected with the app.

As a last-ditch attempt I would do Reset MIXO on desktop and mobile, plus delete the whole MIXO folder in your cloud storage (the one that has the waveform/artwork/tracks folders).

Then connect your cloud storage and import a couple of tracks.

Sync and check your phone. The waveform should download when you play the track and save it for next time.

If this doesn't work then my mind is officially blown.

If it does work, well, I'll still have no idea why!
