Virtual DJ Import Error

Hello!

I just found your app, and it seems like exactly what I'm looking for. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to successfully import my library from Virtual DJ. Every time I try, I just get the message: "Import VirtualDJ Collection Failed".

And tips here? I looked on your support page for importing a Virtual DJ library and seem to be doing it correctly. Any idea what I can do differently to get this working?

Hey Calb,

As I am not able to replicate, could you answer the following so I can help further?

1. What VirtualDJ version are you currently using?

2. Have you directly edited the VDJ xml file at all?

3. If you only try to import one playlist does it work at all?

Also if you could send me the xml file that would be great!

Thanks,

Jon

Hey guys,

So we've been looking into this for a couple of days and since we can get the VDJ xml to work without issue, we believe it may actually be with the playlists.

Could you both try importing your VDJ again but this time select only one or just a few playlists at a time to narrow down which is causing the issue?

Let me know how you get on and please send through any m3u files that seem to be the issue - these are in Documents/VirtualDJ/Playlists.

Thanks,

Jon

Hey sorry for the late response! I have tried importing single playlists, making new playlists, moving my song files to a new spot on my computer and making a new playlist from those, but I'm still getting the same error message from Mixo.

I'm running the latest version of Virtual DJ, and I have never manually changed the xml file.

I'll attatch my xml file and a playlist file here.

Hey Calb,

So, could you try downloading and reinstalling from the website. There may have been an issue with the last in-app update

https://www.mixo.dj/download

Let me know if this fixes the issue!

Thanks,

Jon

Any idea why my cue points from Virtual DJ don't show up in Mixo? On the import screen for VDJ it says that they should be imported.

Hey Calb,

We're looking into this currently, are your cues Hot Cues or another type from the dropdown?

Thanks,

Jon

Whoops! Replied in the wrong place. Yeah, just regular hot cues, haven't changed any settings or anything. Maybe that is visible in the xml file I shared earlier? Not sure.

Should just be regular hot cues, whatever the default is in VDJ.

Hey Calb,

We've made some fixes to the import process over the last couple of versions, could you try again in v0.54 and let me know if this has solved the issue - if not we'll keep looking!

Thanks,

Jon
