Cue point updates to Rekordbox - Workflow query

Solved

Hi, If I update cue points in a bunch of tracks, either from an Import (Traktor) or in Mixo itself, then Export/create the Rekordbox XML. What's the suggested workflow to get these to update in Rekordbox database. I've dragged the playlists over into the Collection, but it doesn't update the Cue Points. Seem to have to load each track individually to get this process to work. What's the suggested workflow to get all cue points updated into the Collection properly?

Hi Jack,

There is an issue with Rekordbox >5.6.0 where existing tracks don't get updated.

Have you tried going into your playlist on the XML tab and select all tracks (CTRL+A or CMD+A), right click and select "Import To Collection"?

This should force Rekordbox to re-import and overwrite the tracks.

Let me know how you get on.

Hi, I've tried right click and Import, also just dragging the playlist/folder over to the Collection. Nether update the cue points. The only way the cue points update, seems to be playing the track from the XML, where it will prompt to update them. So it doesn't seem to achieve updating cue points as an end-to-end process, or I'm missing something fundamental. My intention is updating my collection in Traktor and periodically updating to Rekordbox. I'm not sure how to achieve this as yet.

Hi Jack,

Did you try doing in both steps like this:

1. Right-click the playlist and "Import to Collection".

2. Now select all tracks in the playlist (in the XML section) and right-click and "Import to Collection".

In theory this should update the existing tracks.

oh right, I mis-read, I only did step 1.

Doing the step 2 of Importing the tracks themselves, does update the cue points. I guess you'd need a playlist with all tracks and do this step to update all cue points properly into RB

the first time you bring a track in via playlist import, that's not in RB it's not an issue I guess. It's anytime after if you've updated any cue point data, you'll need this extra step. Good to know.
