.nml import failed (old Traktor nml files)

Dear all,

I want to import some "old" playlist files, done with an old Traktor Version (Maybe Traktor 3.3 and not Traktor "pro" 3.3). The .nml file differs from the structure than the .nml files Traktor pro 3.3 creates (which ones can be imported without problems!).

Do you have an idea, how to import these "old" nml files or import them into Traktor pro 3.3?

Any posibility to parse them to ne "newer" format?

Thnx a lot for your ideas!

Kind regards

Phil

Hi Remko,

thank you very much for fixing it! It works now with this one, I attached.

I will try the other ones I did with the several old verisons of traktor. It seems the structure of the .nml files changed several time with updates.

Thnx for your great support!

Hi Remko,

I have tested some more .nml files. I think they are done about 2006 with Traktor versio of that time.

This structure also differs from the .nml files traktor produces today or the one from preveous vresions. Unfortunately.

Can you have a look on this one also?

I couldn't find more different .nml files from my history

Thank you very much!

Oh wow that's old!

Ok we'll investigate if we can add support for this older format.

I'll keep you posted!

Dear Remko,

could you already check if mixo will supoort the requested old .nml format?

This would be very helpful for me, because lots of my old-school mixes are backuped with this kind of .nml files.

Hi! We're still working on a solution for older NML formats. It's not straight forward so will require a fair amount of development time.

I can't give you an ETA at the moment, sorry about that.

I'll let you know as soon as we have an update on this!

Thanks,

Remko

I have found an interesting link: Here is explained how another parser could be installed in Traktor via python. As described, the nml module in Traktor has changed, so old files (2.x) are not longer readable. With this tool it should be possible,

Unfortunately I'am not a programmer, so I can't do anything with this information. Perhaps it helps for you...

Hi Phil!

Very kind of you, thank you.

As you can imagine this is a rare request so other bug fixes and improvements have taken priority.

That said we're hoping to look at it again soon, so I'll let you know as soon as we have any updates.

Thanks again!

Thanks a lot for your true answer. So I don't calculate with any solution for this.
