Set default name for unnamed cue points

For any cue points that are imported and don't have a name set, use a default name in MIXO e.g.

Cue 1, Cue 2 etc.

This has now been added in our latest v0.18 release

Hi can this be toggled off? I really don't like seeing cue 1...cue 8 and having to amend/delete each one is time consuming

Hi Gerhard,

This task was for cues imported but unnamed in the metadata. If we were to set this as a toggle-able option, what would be your preference in how these are displayed in MIXO?

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon,

I would prefer to leave it unnamed with just the timestamp available. If this can be added it would be greatly appreciated. I never got into naming each cue point and solely relied on the timestamp and color coding. I also saw when adding tracks directly into Mixo I cannot add a cuepoint without naming it? I am not sure if this is the forces trying to force me into naming cue points? But in Serato and Rekordbox naming is not forced.

I am also seeing the benefit of Mixo as being my main library and then exporting playlists to Serato or Rekordbox. I am not sure if it is covered elsewhere but I cannot add tracks directly to a playlist or folder. Only from All Tracks. Also when deleting a playlist or folder it still keeps the tracks in All tracks?

I look forward to your response.

Thanks,

Gerhard

Hey Gerhard

Great feedback, thank you!

So to your first point, I think this is something we can do in the future and I've updated the following idea to add cue naming convention to the custom/advanced user settings

https://support.mixo.dj/t/2135-advanced-settings-menu

If you feel there's anything you'd like to add to that menu that would help your workflow, please add a comment to that idea and I'll update accordingly.

We want MIXO to be as customisable as possible so that everyone's workflow can be improved.

I am not sure if it is covered elsewhere but I cannot add tracks directly to a playlist or folder. Only from All Tracks.

Could you elaborate a bit further on this?

Deletion of tracks from playlists will only remove them from playlists rather than All Tracks, this is unlikely to change unless we add another context menu item for deletion from library which we may do in the future.

Again, great feedback, we really appreciate it!

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon,

Thank you for that. I cannot wait for the advanced settings menu.

So basically what I meant was if I try to bring in tracks from Windows Explorer into Mixo. I have to do it via import tracks and then it will add it to "All tracks" Then I would need to create a playlist and select the tracks that I would like to move to that playlist.

Is it possible to create a new playlist and just drag and drop the tracks to the new empty playlist? (Reason I would like to avoid this scenario: If there are 1500 songs in "All tracks" and I want a new playlist with a set consisting of 10 songs then I need to search in "All tracks" after importing those 10 songs which is now 1510 songs and find those 10 to add to the playlist)

I am not clued up with a context menu. But say I would like to delete the playlist with 10 tracks now. I right click and delete playlist but the 10 tracks remain in "All tracks" so I have to manually go and find those 10 tracks to delete them. Instead of an option to remove it from "All tracks" as well.

This is in comparison with Rekordbox as you can add tracks directly to a playlist and it also gets added to "Collection" which is like "All tracks" but then if you select all tracks in the playlist you can "Remove from collection" and then delete the playlist. I hope this explains it better?

(Serato works similar to Mixmo if you delete the crate/playlist the tracks are still in "All...")

Thank you for the quick response and really considering my feedback to improve the software. It is greatly appreciated. I do apologise for the playlist being part of the cue point name thread. I know it should have been separate.

Kind regards,

Gerhard

Hey Gerhard,

Don't worry, happy to answer questions on any thread!

The context menu refers to when you right-click on a track. I can see we didn't have a public idea for this so I have added this.

https://support.mixo.dj/t/3429-delete-from-library-and-playlist-context-menu-item

Like Rekordbox, for a track in a playlist you will get right-click menu items for Delete from Playlist and Delete from Library.

I've also added an idea for dragging tracks directly onto a playlist

https://support.mixo.dj/t/3430-drag-and-drop-tracks-onto-playlist-to-import

We also already have this for importing folders as well

https://support.mixo.dj/t/3195-drag-drop-playlists-to-import

Hopefully it won't be too long until we can start adding new features like the above!

If you have any other feedback, just let me know!

Thanks

Jon

Ah apologies Gerhard!

You should be able to drag and drop tracks from a folder to a playlist - these will then import and be added to the playlist automatically. Is this not working for you?

Thanks,

Jon

Morning Gerhard,

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to replicate this.

If you could send a screen recording of it not working that would be really helpful.

Could you also send me your devices system specifications? And is it a laptop, pc or touch screen windows device?

Hopefully I can get this sorted for you with the above!

Thanks,

Jon
