MP4 is already support.

Add support for additional video file types - .mov, .avi, .ogv

1. Allow importing of video files with the above formats to be played inside MIXO as audio files.

* Some formats will not be playable on mobile

I like this idea

Well, as i m hard core video dj (4 times per week resident club dj), i can say that the way Virtual Dj work with video files is the best... What i mean.. Even if my 90% of music at this gigs are with video files, i have some remixes that are audio files. So the way that MIXO works with video files, should be exactlly the same as audio files. That way it's more flexible for sure. It would be nice to have a choice for separate video from audio files, BUT the best solution for the working Djs out there whould be if it was as one. So for sure, we need to have playlists witch can contain audio files with video files at the same time (that also should aply for the smart playlists). Did i cover you Mr. Miles? :D

Personally i like to keep things simple, so i download only mp4, but even if i have to download another video format, i convert it in mp4. From my tests mp4 is the best quality-size-metadata file you can use. So for real no need to have a huge amount of formats (just my humble opinion ;) )

Is there an approximate time that this video file format will be added? I use aly video file formats as my music file, especially in mp4

Hey! No specifics yet, but more and more of our users are asking for video file support so it's something we're looking at. We'll update this idea as soon as anything changes.

Just an update on this - MP4 has been supported since the start, but we're now adding support for MOV, AVI and OGV.

These may not be playable on mobile but you will at least be able to import the file (and listen to the audio) in your MIXO library.
