serato loops export rekordbox
Answered
Hey all,
im having trouble with the loops transfer,
Let's say i have 4 hot cues and 1 saved loop,
1) Will the loop export?
2) If yes, to what hot cue will the loop be exported?
3) Is there a system that let's me choose which pad the loop will be assigned to?
Thanks again!
Sincere Devris
Serato can store 8 hot cues and 8 loops.
Rekordbox can store a total of 8 hot cues or loops, so MIXO prioritises hot cues where there are both types in the same positions.
The only idea I have that we could implement to help such cases is to convert loops to memory loops. That would mean you could transfer all 8 hot cues and 8 loops if they exist.
Would that be useful?

Thanks for the feedback,
So to my understanding,
Mixo prioritises hot cues over loops, meaning all the hot cues will occupy a pad first and there after implements the saved loops, when using serato to rekordbox?

Upon further investigation MIXO does not prioritise hot cues but everything is still exported, so Rekordbox will decide what is displayed in the 1-8 Hot Cue positions. It's possible that it prioritises hot cues.
I'll look at the Cue Converter Tool to see what additional options we can add to help deal with these types of scenario.

That would be super helpful!
The reason behind my question is in serato i can store 8 hot cues and 8 loops separately, a total of 16. Right now Mixo randomises the hot cues and loops to my experience which makes it harder (or in some occasion not possible at all) to execute these routines In rekordbox like i would in serato, meaning i have to do it manually, but then again what is the point using Mixo haha
If this could be fixed that would definitely be a gamechanger, because right now no other program is capable of incorporating that

MIXO won't randomise anything, it just imports them with the position number written to the tags by Serato.
In MIXO there are 3 sections; hot cues, memory cues and loops. You should find all loops in the loops section. However, when there are empty hot cue spaces, loops are shown in the hot cues section, which is more reflective of an import from Rekordbox.

can you explain with an example?
can you explain with an example?
This track has 7 cues ( position 1 is empty ) and 1 loop in position 1, so position 1 displays the loop:

Thanks for feedback i really appreciate it. I understand the example but it doesnt reflect the issue i meant.
I'm curious about what will come up out of your research you mentioned previously, will wait for that one
Thanks for your time!

You said: "in serato i can store 8 hot cues and 8 loops separately, a total of 16. Right now Mixo randomises the hot cues and loops".
I was just clarifying that MIXO imports the data provided in the tracks written by Serato and separates them out inot 8 hot cues (in slots 1-8) and 8 loops. The only caveat is when you have loops in slot numbers where there are also no hot cues, we display the loop, just like you get in Rekordbox.
There is no randomisation, it's just reflecting the data imported.
The complication arises when you try to convert 16 hot cues and loops (8 of each) into only 8 available slots in Rekordbox.
My idea is to add an option to our Cue Converter that allows you to copy all loops to memory loops, so they are separate to the hot cues.
That would mean you can export all 8 cues and 8 loops to Rekordbox.
I'm working on this now, since the next release already contains changes to the Cue Converter.
I'll let you know when the next release is live!
